Personalization is a thing that has been a lot on my mind lately. Everybody is talking about it – many people are doing it. I feel an in-depth blog post about this coming as soon as I find time to write it.
In the mean time I just did this little helpful dynamic content plug in for EPiServer CMS 5 R2 which can help you in your personalization efforts. It’s basically gives you the chance to make sure some content is only seen by some groups/roles. In order to build it I had to make a custom property for selecting a role – so that’s also included. You can select multiple roles from a drop-down list and write a text that will only render to people in one of those roles. It uses the DCPlugin for easy dynamic content registration and state management, it’s included in the zip.
